Kim Huguley works closely with her clients to ensure she understands their individual needs and that her clients, in turn, receive personal guidance through the labyrinth of Tennessee's legal system to reach a fair and, whenever possible, amicable resolution to their specific family law concerns. Kim recognizes family law can be emotionally charged, with clients experiencing, for example, anger as a result of divorce, sadness from the loss of a loved one, or elation over the anticipated arrival of an adopted child. Her calm, sensible approach in evaluating each client's unique situation allows her to offer sensitive, timely advice and legal solutions tailored to each client.

Kim attended the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude, in history and Spanish. She then went to Florida State University, where she earned a Master of Science in Higher Education Administration.

After working at the University of Maryland for two years, she enrolled in George Mason University School of Law in Arlington, Virginia, where she earned her J.D. while serving as the Student Notes' Editor of Law Review and finishing in the top third of her class.

Upon graduation from law school, Kim served as clerk to the Honorable Jane Marum Roush of the Fairfax County Circuit Court in Virginia from 1999-2000. During her tenure, she had access to the inner workings of the court, observing daily how cases made their way through the system and how decisions were made. She worked closely with Judge Roush and the other circuit court judges and clerks to analyze cases, research novel legal issues, and review pleadings. Kim continues to apply the insight she gained as a law clerk in her work on her clients' cases.

Kim joined the law firm of Hicks and Havrilak and, later, continued with The Susan Hicks Group, where at each firm she practiced family law exclusively. In addition to counseling clients, drafting pleadings, and litigating cases, Kim wrote numerous articles for publications and outlines for continuing legal education courses on a variety of family law issues, including child custody, child and spousal support, implications of a short marriage, and the use of electronic surveillance in family law cases. Kim also served as an adjunct professor in the Legal Research and Writing Program at George Mason University School of Law from 2001-2002, where she instructed second-year law students on legal drafting and appellate writing.

Kim serves her clients in the areas of divorce, child and spousal support, child custody, and other family law matters, adoption, estate planning, and probate. She practices in Nashville, Franklin, Brentwood, and surrounding counties. She is an active member of the Tennessee Bar Association (Family Law and Estate Planning & Probate Sections), Nashville Bar Association (Domestic/Family Law and Trusts, Estates, & Probate Sections), Williamson County Bar Association, and the Lawyers' Association for Women.
